Yes, the verses are nearly as incomprehensible as early Tom Petty (go on - listen to Refugee and get back to me with the verses). Anyway, verses are just filler for the bit between the hook and the guitar solo. They do not matter in pop songs. I wasn't really watching it, just having noise in the background... Umi turned her guitar from 1 to 11.5. HA! these modern cartoons aren't just for younguuns, they are doing it on purpose. Like when an adult joke is referenced indirectly and then using a look at the screen with a dramatic pause. Many other cartoons are doing it too. Heck, even Looney Toons did that.
