There may be some lawyers who are not scum of the earth.

Certainly I'm not going to call the lawyer who draws up my will a scum of earth. (knock on wood) I'll call those who drew up the inheritance laws scum, but they are all lawyers, so nevermind.

They're all scum. Even if they are well-meaning scum.
