New Asteroid Ceres can be seen without the wait
Asteroid Ceres can barely be seen every 7 or so years via unaided eye. This one has the distinction of being closer though, but not necessarily significantly brighter. I don't know if one can detect visual motion or not with this one. Ceres can't.
