Introduction
Howdy. I'm James, freelance web geek from Roanoke, VA, USA. In another life I did a degree in philosophy, but I've found web design pays rather better so that's what I'm doing these days. As a relic of my philosophy days I still enjoy arguing with pretty much anyone about pretty much anything, so I think I'm going to like it here. \r\n\r\n I was initially lured over here by pwhysall, and if I ever see him in person I shall buy him a beer or something for doing so.

No shortage of arguments around here

That's true about lots of things...
OTOH people have also been known to comment that size matters.

Roanoke? Any nix admin gigs there?
I would love to live in Marion VA but no jobs that I can find. Beautiful country and people. [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=163185|http://z.iwethey.org...?contentid=163185] regards, daemon

Re: Roanoke? Any nix admin gigs there?
Not that I know of; the Roanoke Times is advertising for a backend guy, but they're a Windows shop. I think all the *nix jobs in the area have been snapped up by members of the local LUG... \r\n\r\n And wouldn't that be a bit of a commute from Marion?

Doesn't the Taylor Brewing Company still make some good lagers and ales? I'll have to make a personal visit some weeknight to verify my recollections.

Welcome, and you may have your chance
Every year on a Saturday near July 4, one regular has a party near Philly. This year it is being held on July 2, and Peter is planning on being there.
As for arguments, there is no shortage of them around here. In fact we even have arguments about how to pass arguments to functions!
I'm sure that you'll enjoy yourself.
Cheers, Ben
