I watched a Frontline story about Nixon and Watergate recently. It is amazing how similar Nixon's attitude toward dissent is to the current crop's.

During the show, Lowell Weicker (sp?) said that what he was struck by most was the existence of an "Enemy's List". Paraphrased, Weicker said, "Enemy is such a strong word. This country was built on dissent. It is a part of our foundation. I could understand an 'Adversaries List' or an 'Opponents List'. But 'Enemy's List'? That's un-American."

Among Nixon's wetdreams must have been the establishment of an institution to keep track of his enemies (read: Department of Homeland Security).

Why no one has called for the execution of the current cabal (including the Rehnquist Five) for treason is beyond me.
