New What IS it about Repos...
...that cause them to run certifyible Looney Tunes as president?

(I suppose they are easier to control by their puppetteershandlers this way...)

And perhaps a more pertinent question would be: What is it about certifiable Looney Tunes that makes the Peepul want to elect them president?

(Oh, I forgot...the last certifiable Looney Tune was appointed president. My bad! But that still doesn't explain Reagan. Or Nixon, for that matter....)

shrub\ufffdbish (Am., from shrub + rubbish, after the derisive name for America's 43 president; 2003) n. 1. a form of nonsensical political doubletalk wherein the speaker attempts to defend the indefensible by lying, obfuscation, or otherwise misstating the facts; GIBBERISH. 2. any of a collection of utterances from America's putative 43rd president. cf. BULLSHIT

New OT: Nixon.
I watched a Frontline story about Nixon and Watergate recently. It is amazing how similar Nixon's attitude toward dissent is to the current crop's.

During the show, Lowell Weicker (sp?) said that what he was struck by most was the existence of an "Enemy's List". Paraphrased, Weicker said, "Enemy is such a strong word. This country was built on dissent. It is a part of our foundation. I could understand an 'Adversaries List' or an 'Opponents List'. But 'Enemy's List'? That's un-American."

Among Nixon's wetdreams must have been the establishment of an institution to keep track of his enemies (read: Department of Homeland Security).

Why no one has called for the execution of the current cabal (including the Rehnquist Five) for treason is beyond me.

"The struggle for the emancipation of the working class is not between races or religions. It is one of class against class. Every trace of anti-Semitism, or any form of race hatred cannot assist the oppressed, it can on the contrary only aid the exploiters. Workers of all nationality, religion or creed must stand together against the common enemy: capitalism."
