New How do I pull up the boot messages?
While booting last night, it stalled for over a minute trying to initialize a usb device. Then when it gave up there was an error message, but it scrolled by so quickly I couldn't read it.

I imagine this iw why my multi-format media reader still isn't working.

New Bad advice.
No explanation.

This is bad advice to give someone with lesser knowledge.

Serious I swear it must be a paradigm where the ADMIN always want to keep he/her grip on everything.

How can you live with yourself *NOT* sharing the reasoning and motives and knowledge behind your on liner.

*gag* *retch*

Drew, BTW. In Debian (which you are using) /var/log/kern.log stores to last boot messages, more than dmesg gives usually.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]

New /var/log/kern.log
Helpful as well.
