Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Never rains when it can pour.
As it happens, this week I'm doing a little work for the company in Lancaster I did PHP programming before. They have a guy out on his honeymoon, and they wanted somebody that could troubleshoot programming problems for the week. Not much, but it pays.

And wouldn't you know it, Tuesday another company calls this reqruiter that is working on setting up a contract and asks if I can start Tuesday. None of which I find out about till I get home from work Tuesday.

Hopefully I can talk my way gracefully out of this without pissing off one or both companies. I don't want to burn any bridges with the Lancaster company, as there is potential for work and job there down the road. But this other contract is a several month contract now, while the Lancaster stuff ends Friday.

Should be an interesting day Wednesday.

New I hope it works out well. Best of luck!
New Keep job 1 part time
You are known, they want you, do it off hours.
New nice problem to have.
be up front about what you decide to do. Don't give anyone surprises and this could work out very well for you.
Have fun,
Carl Forde
New PHP sluggish
I seem to get more ColdFusion activity than PHP activity. People keep suggesting that ColdFusion is a dying technology, but it has been my only source of (measily) contracts for a while. Perhaps others are jumping the CF ship for some other fad, leaving a small gap.

New Don't see much PHP either
I didn't know PHP when the company in Lancaster picked me up, but they where in a bind and needed another programmer to start the next day. And all of the PHP work I have done is for them. I see far more ASP posistions.

I can't gauge it against Cold Fusion though, since I don't know that and skip right past those jobs.

I started with the company in Litiz Friday, and wandered into a swamp. They have this system built in Visual Basic Windows Host Scripting, which is just different enough from Visual Basic for Applications that it will trip you up when you least expect it. The fun part is that the application incorprates Visual Basic ASP code also, which is pulled in and rewritten on the fly. Hopefully I get something else to work on before madness sets in.

There’s nothing we like more than appearing to be open minded.
