While the image of self gratified Dick Cheney tore through John Kerry's Senate record like a hot knife through butter is still fresh in my mind...
Is it possible for anyone in the post Watergate American politic to serve in a national public office and become president?
Carter - Governor of Georgia
Reagan - Governor of California
Bush I - Vice President - non senator/congressman
Clinton - Governor of Arkansas
Bush II (aka W) - Governor of Texas
I'm beginning to see a pattern. If you serve in the Senate and represent your party, your record is fodder for any national election. Governors do not vote on foreign policy issues. Am I on to something?
