Phillies got what they wanted...new stadium. Think they would have spent or traded for some arm? Nope...if they did that they wouldn't have the traditional meltdown and it wouldn't be Philly ball. Another sign I heard about was one that said "Reserved for lunch at Chickie and Petes" which does bbq sandwiches that are supposedly better at the park than the original place. Phils are among league leaders in home runs, 4th I think in fielding (low error count) ..but they simply give up too many runs. Bowa basically said, "I look at my players left to me (after injuries), and it's just not there". He's telling his players that they can't hack it. Faced with the same situation, with all the pundits in Atlanta predicting disaster, Bobby Cox said "Hey, we've got good players - we'll figure out a way to adjust until we get everyone healthy" - he's telling his players that they're a good team. Result - this is the best Braves team ever in some ways - certainly the best team spirit - right now Cox is a shoo-in for manager of the year. This season has been his masterpiece. Between the Braves and the Cards, I'm in baseball Nirvana :) -drl

And if I were the P staff on the team, I wouldn't say a word cause they all know they're stealing money. Like them Cards!
