Must've missed some event or other. Then again, I've come to view the Olympics as having the same import as a b movie vehicle for product placement for the most part.
Personally, I'm coming to the point that I think the money my country gives to those bloated plutocrats in the IOC would be better spent on actual amateur sports, rather than the pharmacologically-driven pathological celebration of celebrity sports endorsements that the Olympics is.
Sort of the <insert country here> Idol of the sports world, as it were.
