Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Amazon.com
here I come. (Seattle)

Have offer for group leader slot there.

Good News: These guys seem to know their stuff and have sane management practices.
Bad News: Have to move north into the cold. I hate the cold.

Good News: I will have a boat again - just need to relaunch and sail her up.
Bad News: Its still freakin cold there.

Good News: All is Linux/Unix.
Bad News: and C++ and Java and Windows for office apps.

That was lovely cheese.

New Good luck!
You'll get to meet inthane, and I come through there sometimes as well.

Seattle in particular tends to be cloudy, otherwise I love the weather there. Mild all year round.

Cheers,
Ben

Seems I will be working at the Pac Med Building.

That was lovely cheese.

New Well, if you don't want to search for it... ;)
Take my username. Drop the -chan, then realize that my ISP is comcast.net, and you're set to go.

(And the spambots aren't, even though I'm pretty certain they aren't harvesting us. I posted my straight gmail address here a few weeks back, and haven't had a single nibble since.)

New Wonderful news. Congratulations!
New Great!
I'm still open :)

New That is great news.
Glad to see that you've landed something good. (hopefully).

Everything I've seen says that Amazon is a good place to work.

Congrats. Seattle isn't that cold...problem is it isn't that warm either.

New Coffee? Did I mention coffee?
-drl
New Sure, I see why the coffee craze started there
people need a cup every 15 minutes to warm up.

Which is why every 3rd storefront is a coffee shop.

That was lovely cheese.

New Re: Sure, I see why the coffee craze started there
Well the bright side - good company that survived the chaos by sticking to the program, beautiful area on the clear days, mountains nearby and ocean too, good music scene, no more homeless worries. It can't be worse than Denver for stability.

New Congrats, now for cold, come to Minnesota.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
New Corner of I-5 and I-90?
Hope you have irregular hours.. ;)
New Cold?!? Ain't nothing cold about Seattle
(Unless, of course, you're comparing it against Tucson...)
You will, of course, catch every form of rhinovirus known to man, as the winter temperature is about 33\ufffdF, while you'll see the sun evey 4th week or so...

Still, beats North Dakota, any time of the year!

Congrats on the new gig!

New Ain't nothin warm about it neither
I'm used to 300 days a year of sun.

We'll see how long it is before I feel like picking up an ax.

That was lovely cheese.

New It ain't all that bad right now.
Quite frankly, for the past month it's been a little bit hot for me. Temp has been around 75-85, and while that may not seem like a lot, we get some serious humidity as well, which causes some problems with sweat.

OTOH, we haven't seen much snow lately.

New Shiver
Gimme 90/80. 90 degrees, 80% humidity. Teeshirt 'cycling.

"High in Seattle 85 degrees. No relief in sight."
-drl
New I'd die in that climate

New Move to Houston then
Seems like every day down here is at least 80% humidity, and the temp goes above 90 by May and stays up there until October.
