Welcome to IWETHEY!

New What are your three most prized possessions?
1. My bike. I still like to just look at it. I own a classic.

2. My Dad's 8th AAF shoulder patch and aircrew wings. They've been over Germany.

3. My TI-92+. This little 68000 based computer has been extremely useful since day 1 - whether to convert units, look up the value of Planck's constant, or crank out a calculation in Clifford algebras. It's also a blast to program (nice little script language that is sort of unique, or cross-compiled C).

New My list.
1. My airplane.
2. My airplane.
3. My airplane.

New Irreplacable things that people have made for me. Prob > 3.
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Mine.
1) The Christian Brothers wine bottle I decoupaged in 3rd grade.
2) My HP-41CX.
3) My recliner.

It's a funny thing. I really had to think on this before I could come up with any answers....

Cheers,
Scott.
New Faith, knowledge, and self-control. (cf II Peter ;)
The only physical object which I would have difficulty giving up is my bass, but even that could go, given moderate cause.
New control of my Peter is pretty important too
Since a youngun I have steeled myself to not get attached to people places or things. My self awareness, self respect is important but not much else.
thanx,
bill

My wife, my son, and my faith...

Physical objects would be my guitars :)

I just got one of these as a birthday present from my wife:

New Hey! Nice present!
What are the chances I can talk your wife into getting me a Warwick Bubinga Thumb neck-thru 4-string for my birthday?

(Just thought I'd ask...)
jb4
shrub\ufffdbish (Am., from shrub + rubbish, after the derisive name for America's 43 president; 2003) n. 1. a form of nonsensical political doubletalk wherein the speaker attempts to defend the indefensible by lying, obfuscation, or otherwise misstating the facts; GIBBERISH. 2. any of a collection of utterances from America's putative 43rd president. cf. BULLSHIT

New I empathize with that
Obviously I don't have faith, but the others I do. Substitute caring for faith and you might have a winner.

Cheers,
Ben

New Re: What are your three most prized possessions?
1. Mind (if youv'e ever had a relative with alzheimers you'll know why - watched my Mother give up will to live, stopped eating & died after she could no longer live with not remembering who anyone was (cept my wife :-))

2. Reasonably good health & stamina (worth more than any wad of $s - my brother has been a paraplegic for 15 years after once being a country champion parachutist)

3. Pictures, images & videos of all my children & grandchildren (embryonic family dynasty records - If I lose them I lose a recorded history that many in our families future generations will learn so much from)

Doug M

#2 In fact in 10 days I will be in NZ at the 1st of my Dynasty's clan gathering (both my parents & my 1st wife's parents are dead so we is it!.

All the chillun, all the gran chillun, all the spouses & a few hangers on. First time we have all gathhered together in one country at one place, in recent years. Natch will be there with video cams & digital cams & lots of recording media. Ages will range from (aged but young :-) to 3 x 2 years old.

Gathering will be in a little sleepy little town in NZ called Wanganui. Biggest fame for it is that when IT was being decentralised, NZ Govt set up a govt bureau called the Wanganui Computer Centre. Figured it was to far from anywhere & anyone to ever be harmed or threatened. Anyone with malintent who goes there quickly succumnbs to its mind numbing simplicity. Below is a pic of one of my clan in her Wanganui high school winter uniform - this is dead serious (no joking).

It's a TYPO... hehee. 1968 Plymouth.

I fixed it. I didn't notice it sooner because I'm having severe ISP problems today, both with my main AND my backup. I can barely stay connected a few minutes.

Wife and kids (but that makes 4)

New Mine, too.
Hey! I can afford to have her repaired now! Once again I can be doing my guitar the great injustice of actually inflicting my chords and notes on her...

Besides that - a box containing a broken alarm clock and some Pokemon cards - given to me by my ex-fiance's kids... When they were given to me, they were THEIR most prized posessions.

And - believe it or not - a plush toy that I've had since infancy. It's in bad shape, but is preserved in a box.
