New Not a z--it's a final s
Greek has two s characters; one for finals and one for everyday use.

mas might be a variant of makron (large, tall) or maiomai (to seek) or mastizo (to whip)

sotor is most likely a variant of soter (savior).
New "our savior" most likely...
...was used in reference to my godlike technical skills.

It is much harder to be a liberal than a conservative. Why?
Because it is easier to give someone the finger than it is to give them a helping hand.

New Then they left out the first letter:
"mas" should be "umas" to mean "our", unless it's a contraction? Good guess.
New Re: Not a z--it's a final s
The final sigma is written like a standard Roman s - that character is "zeta".
-drl
New Bzuh?
Greek zeta, after being mangled through the Etruscan alphabet, possibly became the letter I in the Roman alphabet. They (the Romans) didn't borrow Y and Z until after the conquest of Greece, 146 BC. Not to mention that Greek didn't have any lowercase letters until after 300 BC; the Roman alphabet (including that capital I) existed at least as early as the founding of Rome, supposedly 753 BC.

Final sigma is not zeta, whatever zeta is.
