ROFL what was that commandment again?
[link|http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2001907587_steal20.html|http://seattletimes....7587_steal20.html] hristian teens are stealing Jesus music. They're doing it through Internet downloads and CD burnings at nearly the same rate as secular music is being pirated, according to a new study done for the Gospel Music Association.
The findings were a jolt to many in the evangelical music industry, who expected churchgoing teens to be mindful of the commandment that states, "Thou shalt not steal."
"I'm surprised and disappointed that the behavior isn't that ardently different between Christians and non-Christians," said John Styll, president of the Gospel Music Association, the leading trade group for evangelical music. now lets have a slugfet about making a profit or spreading the word. thanx, bill
"You're just like me streak. You never left the free-fire zone. You think aspirins and meetings and cold showers are going to clean out your head. What you want is God's permission to paint the trees with the bad guys. That wont happen big mon." Clete questions, help? [link|mailto:pappas@catholic.org|email pappas at catholic.org]

How offensive is that...
I'm surprised and disappointed that the behavior isn't that ardently different between Christians and non-Christians Gee, because only people belonging to organized religion have morals. *roll*

Re: How offensive is that...
Only people who are using an abstract standard have morals.
What's the standard?
Does a hungry or horny lion have morals?
Care for the kids, kill the impalas.
Hyenas - my kids are hungry, steal from the lions.
Bacteria - I reproduce therefore I am - eat the hyenas.
Implicit in all "moral" behavior is the idea of God - atheists are believers with turned backs. God is behind me, see no evil.

Define "theft"
In my books, violating intellectual property laws, while illegal, is not theft. I have not deprived you of the possession of anything that you possessed. I have not prevented you from using anything that you have a right to use. And furthermore, economic research strongly suggests that people who encourage copying by fans actually earn more in the end. (One of the more famous examples being The Grateful Dead.)

After all, most (all?) 'Christian' branded music stinks like ass...

got given a great quote the other day
by a friend in Mtl (was up for a visit). "Oh, the music industry's just fine... it's the record industry that's going tits up." He credited it to some rap artist or other.

They're not stealing, but sharing!
