Not allergic to corn but bourbon has a strange effect

and have broken out in hives a couple of times. It also puts me in a zero tolerance mode, not good considering the places I used to imbibe bourbon in. All other liquors have the normal relaxed fun effect, its bourbon specifically that hits me wrong.
