Surely that's not me is it? Am guessing that's marlowe.
Prolly not, because Brandioch and I agreed on most things. Still with my initials being MMM I had to wonder. And Scott's scolded me for being fairly awful on occasion. ;-)

I don't do third world languages. So no, I don't do Java.
and I missed marlowe's absence. They both reminded me of something a history prof told me, "If you want to discredit the Right, just give them the floor."

However, spirited conversation requires some conflict.
This reminds me of a thread on K5 about Daily Kos, [link|http://www.kuro5hin.org/comments/2004/3/5/171043/4690?pid=74#89|here]. A monoculture in computing is a bad thing. A monoculture in an on-line community is a bad thing too. Cries of "don't feed the troll" can drive away some of the people that make a site interesting.
MM is still around too, it seems, from [link|http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=eG0myWknDHA.1948%40TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl&rnum=7&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dmichel%2Bmerlin%2Bparis%2Bfrance%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26scoring%3Dd%26selm%3DeG0myWknDHA.1948%2540TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl%26rnum%3D7|this] Usenet post on Outlook Express settings. It would be good if he posted here occasionally.
(It's almost scary how easy it is to find posts by people these days...)
But joking aside, the M I referred to was of course the 'phantom of IWETHEY', The 'man with no name', The one who defeated Saddam almost single handedly, the one who reduced IWETHEY participation by others, more than any other. Need I say more :-)

Hmm promised myself to not get back into this mode - ahem, cough, must move on ... :-(
