You've heard the stories about physics PhD candidates being unable to answer questions like: "Is the wavelength of light bigger than a breadbox?" :-( It is more common for theorists than experimentalists to have trouble with practical questions like this. Perhaps the same thing was at work in your HBS experience. Cheers, Scott.
