I admit I missed the Superbowl
I wanted to see it, but spent my time studying for a final exam. Plus my son twisted his ankle/foot at school and we were taking care of him.
Usually I have a Superbowl party at my house or my brother-in-law's house as he lets me use his big screen TV and I don't have one. Not this year, didn't have the time or money to do so.

I happen to agree with Lileks that breasts have no place on TV unless I know in advance that they wil be there. The standards are going down indeed, that's "to hell in a handbasket". And, to see that particular breast, the breast of a no-talent, "Michael Jackson's sister nekkid" pop slut^H^H^H^Hdiva, complete with a fucking _star_ pinned on it is indeed not the nicest experience possible. more in bizness than in any comfort-food occupation, locally, nationally ... species-wide. And it is certainly not ever gender-specific (however often it is Meant that stupid way).
Personally, I despise the Word, for it is hardly ever attached to the most deserving.. beginning waay back when females were Chattels (and cattle). Apparently videotaping oneself with multiple partners having sex does not qualify poor Paris as a whore. Calling such a woman a whore gets me branded as a bigoted-prude? I suppose she is an upstanding citizen and every "not a whore" woman out there video tapes herself having sex multiple times with mutliple partners. Just have to look past the morals and ethics checks on that. Last I checked lust was a sin, but I suppose it is a virtue now?
As for poor Janet, if she was in on the thing, we could classify her as a flasher. If not, it was a wardrobe malfunction and we were supposed to see red lace instead of her breast but Timerlake must have yanked it too hard or something and tore the lace off as well? Just look at the ratings for the whole event. The solar ring is also for sale on the Internet, replica of the one Janet wore. It seems to be selling a lot. In my opinion the whole thing seems like it was staged to get attention and sell that solar ring and boost ratings for the half-time show. Mark my words, someone figured out how to get rich off of the incident.
Edit: I think I should point out that the word Whore is an ambiguous term, and it could have more than one meaning in different contextes. Obviously what I classify as a whore is different from what you classify as a whore. Just like what my country thinks is human rights may differ from what other countries think is human rights. The intense sexual desire for multiple partners and video taping the acts are what makes me think that she is a whore, or at least a exhibitionist, lust definately plays a part here.

No, I don't think it's a big deal. But the point is, she wouldn't have done it if she didn't want to get a reaction. I'm pretty confident it came off exactly as intended. It's possible that they just wanted to tear off part of the leather, leaving the red bras as she claims. But even in that case, she was explicitly trying to provoke a reation. In other words, her intent was titillation. That being the case, I don't think she can now claim it's not really a big deal.
It's like the photographer a couple of years ago who showed a picture of a crucifix that looked like it was surrounded in smoke. Turns out it was immersed in a jar of the photographer's urine. He titled the photo "Piss Christ". Then he said that he didn't do it to be offensive: the urine just had interesting refractive qualities. Yeah. You don't get to intentionally provoke a reaction, then complain that people are reacting.

Nope, she sure didn't.
She claimed today (and last night) that he was only supposed to pull off the leather part, leaving the red lace attached to her costume. However, they are now claiming that the leather pulled the red lace with it, thus exposing her more than she intended to be.

I do hold an englishman's brothel is his castle , where he should behave accordingly--as many flash tails as he likes , but none of the troop fornications that the orientals and germans indulge in. Its not the indecency I mind , but the company of a lot of boozy brutes hallooing and kicking up a deuce of a row when I want to concentrate and give off my best. A regular bacchanalia is something to see right enough, but I am with the discriminating Frog who said that one is interesting, but only a cad would make a habit of it.
