Welcome to IWETHEY!

New IWETHEY.BOFH-- && IWETHEY.Engineer++
I start on Monday.

It was odd, handing in my computer room keys and having to submit helpdesk requests for my new accounts, because my computer has been reformatted (completely different software load for an engineer than an IT staffer) and I don't have any of the tools.

It's also odd knowing that my world is about to shrink suddenly and become filled with things like NMCS2 transponders, IPLUs, COBS systems, the MSS, MIDAS and Signals subsystems, cross-boundary testing. Yes, I'm about to acquire a whole new vocabulary.

Aside: My PC, having been rebuilt, has that lovely fresh "new PC" feel to it.

New Cool beans..
Of course now, if your machine is still usable, IT is not done fucking with you...
Still, I hope you have fun with the new gig.
New Time to start some 'under the radar' work
Now that you're not the one responsible for aiming/monitoring the radar, that is.

New well with any new position...
comes a new vocabulary. Somehow I think that a good deal of the more colourful expressions will carry over nicely...

I'm sure you'll reform your new world to conform to your desires and your discomfort will be only momentary... Enjoy.
Have fun,
Carl Forde
New A sad loss for PFYs everywhere.
