D-Link DWL-810+ Wireless Bridge
V

| | -> Motorola StarMax MacOS 8.6
| |
| |-> PC #2
|
|
|-> PC #1
V and | = Cat 5+ wire connection between boxes.
... = Wireless connection between boxes.
The D-Link 704P serves up dynamic IP addresses in the 192.168.0.n subnet to the PCs and the Macs. It has a fixed IP address of 192.168.0.1
The D-Link DWL-810+ has a fixed IP address of 192.168.0.30 It can be changed using a browser talking to its built-in web server.
I had to change the default IP address of the Linksys WAP to match my 192.168.0.n subnet by talking to its built-in browser.
If I understand what you're trying to do correctly, you should be able to assign static IP address to your WAP just like I do.
HTH.
Cheers,
Scott.
