Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Might I say
that I was using a word that deSitter first used. It seemed like it fit her to me. I agreed with him.

The definition:

Pronunciation: 'hOr, 'hor, 'hur
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English hore, from Old English hOre; akin to Old Norse hOra whore, hOrr adulterer, Latin carus dear -- more at CHARITY
Date: before 12th century
1 : a woman who engages in sexual acts for money : PROSTITUTE; also : a promiscuous or immoral woman
2 : a male who engages in sexual acts for money
3 : a venal or unscrupulous person

Look at the second part of #1, the "also" "a promiscuous or immoral woman". Her having sex with a ton of guys and video taping it surely classified her as a whore by that definition. KMFPH!

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Many people find exactly that
to be a problem with your post: you use the words that others already used in the discussion, or you say things already said, or things so obvious that they don't need saying. Next time you are about to post, ask yourself: must I say what I am about to say? Will the discussion be incomplete without it? I know that the number of stuff *I* post is halved by such considerations.
--

"There's nothing more nervous than a million dollars. It does not speak French, it does not speak English, it does not speak German and it moves very fast."

New Verbosity challenged
In that case I had agreed with him and repeated what he had said. It should have been plain to anyone with an above average IQ that I was responding to a question. I see this as no different that quoting the message and replying "Yes" to it, all I did was paraphrase what he said and verified it. Notice how nobody bashes deSitter for calling PH a whore, just bash poor old Norm instead. Funny how people who can comprehend everything posted here can miss that?

As for the obvious, it was not that obvious to me so I posted it to clarify it. I am not a mind-reader and cannot tell if something I posted was obvious to someone else. If it is not so obvious to me I'll post it. I did think that the discussion would be incomplete without it, because nobody else covered it. What was obvious was that deSitter didn't know who she was.

New Re: Verbosity challenged
I was clearly being sarcastic and making a general rant about the stupidity of the Internet, that requires me to put up with spam about sex tapes and longer dicks and what Asian hotties are doing with chopsticks and fishheads. I get sick of it.

You took what I said seriously because your brain is so full of powerful psychoactive drugs that you can't think straight. There was a time when you were coherent, which has passed.
-drl
New When?

There was a time when you were coherent, which has passed.

Tell me when so I can run Norton Ghost and recover my mind. :)

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Re: When?
Your mind is fine, it's your nervous system that is jacked.
-drl
New Nervous system
how can I fix that without taking medicine? I've had this problem before I was ever put on medicine.

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Re: Nervous system
This may sound trite, but part of it is just fixing your attitude. All I know is chemicals are bad for you. The amount of recreational drugs people consume are nothing compared to the massive doses of chemicals that they hit you with in psycharmacy.

You have to rewire yourself by changing your attitude.
-drl
New BTW
I'm not suggusting you stop taking them without Dr. note - but I'd tell the doctor to get me off of drugs or find a better doctor. Not a shrink - a real doctor.

-drl
New Only alternative they suggested
was shock treatment. No way I am going to send electricity to my brain to try and reboot it. :)

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Re: Only alternative they suggested
Why not? They put you to sleep, doesn't hurt. You're maybe a little sore when you wake up. They must hit you with some good shit to relax you.

There is every reason to believe shock treatment might be appropriate. As it is, your synapses are in continuous chemical shock. Also, I doubt they start out with a controversial jolt. Hey, other medical procedures are dangerous, but that's why they call it "sick".

-drl
New WHat I don't like are the side effects
of shock treatment, the memory loss, and personality change, and having to learn many things over again. I have a problem with my memory already, I don't need more memory loss. Also chances are I could die from the procedure.

Plus once people find out about it, the "Sparky" nickname will stick to me forever. :)

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Re: WHat I don't like are the side effects
The memory loss is very short term and more like having a hangover. As I already stated the doses are gradually applied, and the initial treatments are not dangerous. And changing your personality is the whole point, to be rid of self-defeating thoughts.

("Die" from shock treatment? Who told you that? It's not like they throw a toaster in the bathtub.)

New ECT and me
The way it was explained to me, my high blood pressure and high pulse rate and history of heart problems in my family puts me at risk. They wanted me to sign a waver not to hold the hospital accountable should I die from the ECT treatments.

Several treatments a month, at a high price, for 6 months. Then if that doesn't work, 6 more months of treatment. Insurance said they would not cover it.

I also talked to people who had ECT done years ago, and they were more disfunctional than I currently am. Ended up back into the hospital again for more mental illness treatments. Some could not even remember their children or what they did as a child.

Stressoflife.com is not working. Got a better link?

New Cheddar or Swiss? :)

New Re: Cheddar or Swiss? :)
OK, I don't know why I like you or bother, but..

ECT is *not dangerous* unless you have a direct, measurable heart ailment. They don't "shock" you to be shocking you - they induce a convulsion as a way of cleaning out the garbage that's clogging your nervous system. If you are at all normal there will be few effects on you - effects that clear up and presto, you've been rebooted and can reorganize your thought.
-drl
New http://ect.org/
having been hit with 220 from palm to barefeet in a puddle I can attest that the effects are deleterious but short lived. It does affect your personal magnetic field. I can effect tv broadcasts by standing close. After the shock for about a week that did not happen. It makes you feel like you are continously ready to faint and nauseous. Short term memory is affected but it does lower aggression tremendously. It takes about 6 weeks to renormalize which would not be of much use to Norm.
thanx,

OK, I don't know why I like you or bother, but..

I could say the same about you, there are times when I wonder about you too. I do like you despite some things you say about me.

While in the hospital a Reverand Sterling told me that it was against God to have such a thing done. He called it unnatural and torture. So on a religous basis I also have something against it. My wife is also against it and she is a nurse and knows the side-effects.

New Re: WHat I don't like are the side effects
Don't let anyone push or hassle you into a procedure you aren't okay about. You stick to what you are doing, keep plugging and keep doing what the doctor says and you'll keep on improving.

The improvement I've seen in just barely a year is remarkable, so don't worry about what everyone else thinks. None of us are perfect, all of us make mistakes, do stupid screw ups and sometimes piss people off, but regardless, all of us are usually doing the best we can.

Hang in there.

New It was insulting
I was calling myself a wheel of cheese in reference to deSitter's posts. It was meant to be insulting to him and sarcastic. Maybe you just didn't get it? ECT can do that to you, or so I hear. :)

"Lady I only speak two languages, English and Bad English!" - Corbin Dallas "The Fifth Element"

New Norman, you're doing fine
You're following your doctor's advice, taking the medication that is helping you, and you don't need to consider any non-professional opinions unless you want to.

I think you are improving, and that's what matters in the long run, is getting better, no matter how long it takes.

New "Quoting the message and responding 'Yes' to it"
is acomplished much better by adding a no-body response with "Yes" as a title. And I am not saying that figuring out waht's obvious and what's not is easy. Still, it's worth a try.
