IWT.employed++
OK, so since the beginning of October, I've been working in either California, Dallas, or home for the consulting job that's had me trotting the globe since last November. Except for when they didn't call me between April and October.
Well, I can't handle being unemployed for six months straight. My finances barely survived, but I can be thankful for the employment from October to now.
Either way, the travel isn't good since I've now got a family. So I went out and found something locally. Commute will be an hour and a half (one way) in the car, and no, there's no better way to get from Naperville to Crystal Lake. But, 40+ hours a week guaranteed is nothing to sneeze at. And I didn't have to take a pay cut, either. So, I'll suck it up and deal with the commute and be thankful for having a job.

Congrats! Now If we can just get Todd a Gig...

Nope
IL-59 to IL-68 (Algonquin) to IL-31. Basically working right near IL-41 (Northwest Highway (or is that IL-14?)) and Main St. in Crystal Lake.

Actually, that'd be *US* 14
Why Algonquin to Ill 31? Do you (like me) have a pathological aversion to the Illinois Toll Highway Authority? If not, It'd seem to me that the tollway would cut the time to IL 31 significantly
(YMMV)

None and none.
But the gig is only 2-3 months. I can do that, knowing in advance what I'm getting into.

My condolences on the commute
but congrats on the 40 hrs/week work.
Be wary, cause rumors have Lucent dumping a good portion of the people from the Bell Labs site at Warrenville and Naperville roads intersection. Could affect the local economy and your future employment competition if true.

Except perhaps for some fat-ass "management"-surrogates, and they'd not be competition for Yendor.
