Dec. 3 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. service industries expanded in November and a gauge of employment rose to the highest level since March 2000, showing that employers are adding workers after productivity increased last quarter by the most in 20 years.

``Companies are becoming more confident that growth will be sustained, and they can't squeeze that much more out of workers, so they're starting to hire,'' said Jade Zelnik, chief economist at RBS Greenwich Capital in Greenwich, Connecticut.
