Hey, no fair
Your generation stuck mine with a motherload of cultural horrors (bradys! disco! plaid! roller skating!). -30% for being a yuppie. 5 point bonus for telling me where you saw this. Thanks!
Final Score: 33.35 So I think I got 58.35. Couple spelling things, and several more I could have given artist and song but not lyric.

I would tend to agree...
...that from a pop music perspective...the 80s was pretty much a waste. Good music was around..it just didn't get played on pop radio.
I was a dj for 7 of the 10 years of the 80s...1 was freeform, 4 years college, 2 years classic rock.

So I was lead to believe from earlier posts.
I was "in the biz" for 6 years in the seventies: 3 at a small comercial 1KW AM, 3 at a large rock station in Albuquerque (and witnessed the transmogrification of FM radio from freeform, to formatted to "adult contemporary").

Yeah, right.
You were probably working in a bank in the 80's. 15% handicap on the Gen Xers. No bonus for telling me where you saw this. How sad for you!
Final Score: 37.95 .
Err..
I was working as a roadie for a band in the 80s. *Not* a top forties band. And I'm not a Gen Xer; baby boomer's more accurate.

Pretty much the entire decade for me.
Moved to Europe...where drinking was legal...went to college when legal age was still 18....so I essentially didn't slow down. I hit the 80's at full speed and just >blazed< right on through :-)

Re: Another silly quiz...
I can't take it, because I only knew about 2 when I looked at it. I know so little 80's music, I mostly listen to 70's music. Now... if it was 70's music.... ;)
John on the other hand, would probably ace it. :)

Still, he knew a LOT more than I did!

Born in 63. But I appreciate a lot of the music from that time frame. Most of the music I listen to is probably from 65-83ish.

U2 guiter riffs. Dire Straits, keyboards. Metallica non stop heavy metal.

"Voices Carry"? No wonder I could never find that song - I thought it was "Mrs. Geary".
