Ominous news from Iraq
We are now staging retaliation strikes in neighborhoods "suspected of being involved" in attacks on US forces. At least according to [link|http://www.foxnews.com/printer_friendly_story/0,3566,102449,00.html|Foxnews] we are.
How much longer do we have to be there before we can actually identify the enemy?

Depends on whether IDing the enemy
is actually the top priority.
After all, it's possible that's not in fact the top priority. That does beg the question of what the top priority might actually be.
Here's a guess: perhaps the top priority is actually demonstrating that being in opposition with the stated goals and positions of those in power will result in punishment.

Naah, you should know what the top priority is:
priority 1) Getting the oil priority 2) Making Halliburton more money getting the oil priority 3) Making sure only we get the oil priority 4) See priority 1), 2), and 3)

Well, we are making progress...
Make everyone of certain ethnic backgrounds over there into our enemies, and identifying enemies becomes a much simplified process.

I dunno...
The Israelis have been doing it for years...and you see how successful they've been using that blunt instrument....

It's actually extremely simple.
Enemy is as enemy does. The ones cooperating with us - informing on the enemy and such - are not enemy. The ones with thousands of RPGs in their basements are enemy.
But no, everything has to be hopelessly complicated.
---------------------------------------------------------------- DEAL WITH IT. Compromise is for suckers. Seeking a middle ground is what led to 9/11.
