You say that liberals are "trying to have it both ways", but there is no example of that here. Here a liberal speaks left-wing speech, and liberals believe right-wingers (even Nazis, famously) should be allowed to speak right-wing speech. So what?

And since when did liberals, by definition egalitarians believing in equal rights and equal opportunity for all regardless of race, class, or creed, become "elitists"?
