New What do you do?

DEAL WITH IT.
Americans: a pack, not a herd.
Never mind all the mass graves. Where's the nerve gas?

New Well, if you're George W. Bush
you ignore it unless the country is run by a guy that tried to assassinate your father and is sitting on a big pool of oil.

New Well, the first thing I'd do...
is ask for a 2nd vote like I promised to.
New A which vote? Methinks you've lost count
[link|http://www.csis.org/mideast/reports/iraq_unres.html|That's not hard to do.] But losing count at one?

You guys are like compulsive gamblers, only addicted to a different kind of meaningless procedure. "just one more UN vote... c'mon, just one!"

P.S. [link|http://www.state.gov/p/nea/rls/01fs/14906.htm|Here's some more you missed.]

New Learn to read, idiot! Both links prove SJ right
New Only by your pretzel logic.
Going to the UN for a vote doesn't solve diddly squat. Preponderance of evidence by way of Bayes' theorem. So it's silly to ask for yet another "second" vote from those gutless wonders. Quod erat demonstratum.

New Silly or not...
once you've SAID you're going to ask for a second vote...
New Problem with the analogy
There is a problem with that analogy.

To mimic reality correctly, Bush has to call the police and tell them his neighbor has a gun in violation of his probation. And then the police go over and search and don't find a gun, so they leave. So then Bush breaks down the door and charges in and kills they guy.

Except, neither Bush nor the police can find the gun Bush said he had. Then Bush says the guy was beating his wife with a golf club, and that is why he had to be killed.* Bush then denys that guns ever had anything to do with it, it always about wife beating all along.**

Jay

* Something about Bush being the guy that sold him the golf clubs and covered for the guy when the police came around before to ask the guy about the golf clubs should go in here. But the whole story is getting to confused to follow.

** Something needs to be added in here about Bush selling off the guys house and taking the money, but I can't see a way to work that into the analogy.
New Re: What do you do?
Well, considering that the guy used to be my father's best friend, the same thing was going on in 9/10th of households in the neighbourhood, the old lady was a thief who stole from him first and who he didn't kill but just took her house and kicked her out to a relative's, he was nowhere near my front door and was in fact sipping coffee in his living room, and he was five inches tall, I would be more concerned about the fellow next door who is aiming a rocket launcher at my house or the kids throwing bricks and molotovs through my windows. Ever heard of priorities?

The analogy is so bad that it fits { $kid = Saddam, $evilman = USA, $victims = LatinAmerica } better than the original intention.
New My conclusion.
There are entirely too many people reproducing in the United States.

The soul and substance of what customarily ranks as patriotism is moral cowardice and always has been...We have thrown away the most valuable asset we had-- the individual's right to oppose both flag and country when he (just he, by himself) believed them to be in the wrong. We have thrown it away; and with it all that was really respectable about that grotesque and laughable word, Patriotism.
