Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Longhorn and other systems
Longhorn stores everything into a database, the database is the file system!

Not sure how to export the files to other systems, some sort of legacy support for older file systems will need to be added to write to DOS floppy disks, ISO/Joilet CD-ROMS, etc. Maybe then it is back to the file extensions again, groan!

New All file systems are databases.
The only question is the language (primitives) that are used to access the file system and how the files are indexed. There's also the question of whether the database is relational.

That's the kind of thing I enjoyed watching for hours on acid.
