Welcome to IWETHEY!

New OS/2 in not really all that odd spots.
S390s (or whatever they're called these days) run OS/2 boxes as consoles, too. Probably keeps the operators running things they're not supposed to as a side effect. :-)

And leave me here to bleed

Is it enough to die

New Mostly threading and virtual memory management
Warp is a lot better at that than Windows is. I understand the scheduler and pager was basically written by a bunch of the old VM guys seconded in to clean it up for version 1.3 after the MS divorce.

I have both Warp and Windows partitions on this particular box; I can run so many more programs under OS/2 and retain responsiveness over Windows that it's not even amusing... more sad. Even Moz is pretty good on a P200, as long as you have at least 96MB RAM in the thing. It'll thrash like a pig if you need to switch to another big program (say WordPro for example) but after the switch is completed the programs perform very well.

New No, No, No...
OS/2 is DEAD....

Com on GUYS... it's been like 10 years and you are STILL using something that works?

GAH... OS/2 Biggots... (Of which *I* still have my wrapped Warp 3 CDs, I think...)

And my 1.3 install Diskettes and the Free Upgrade to v2.0. I know I have.

You have not yet reached the height of your depravity.
New Oh, really?
I know of a medical specialist who still does his accounts on a Commodore 64 because it works. :-)

New The funny thing is...
us warpers are probably feeling a lot less pressure to move to linux than a lot of the Windows people are. No viruses, the system is stable, there are applications (all claims to the contrary notwithstanding), and it runs so well on modern hardware that it's just stupid.
