Oh man, I almost had the black ceiling! When I lived at home and wanted a Star Wars room, Dad built me a loft bed all painted different shades of blue. We painted two walls white, for the inside of the spaceship look, and two walls dark blue, for the outer space look. I so wanted a black ceiling and a silver painted door, but mom stomped her foot down on that part. I settled for a lighter blue ceiling, and ordinary door covered in Star Wars posters.

The loft bed moved here to the house with us, (although we had to saw it apart and bolt it back together, hehe), and like your parents, as soon as I left home, man that room was back to a normal paint job! Blue, I think! Hehehee!
