New Neat, but...
Like DeS I was thinking it had to be fake. E.g. the tires rolling up the ramp, the exhaust pipe rotating balanced on the spring, etc. But it seems it really isn't. They just pulled tricks like weighting the wheels to make them roll up hill. Whether there wasn't some other trickery involved, I can't say.

Nissan's [link|http://cars.ign.com/articles/385/385397p1.html|The Run] through Prague is neat too, in a very different way.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Re: Neat, but...
Post production was done by "The Mill". Here is a dossier:

[link|http://www.softimage.com/Community/Xsi/Mag/Cs/VOLUME_3/Issue_1/4.htm|http://www.softimage...E_3/Issue_1/4.htm]

"The Mill had 600 individually quaffed bison running through Los Angeles and each at its own pace."

Coupl'a car parts that sort of act right, no problem.

Production company was Paritzan Midi-Minuit - interview with directors Bail and Delpoux:

There's a QT version here, allowing pauses and frame by frame:

Check out the "tire on vertically standing hood" frames - where is the necessary reflection of the (moving) dollycam?

Remember "Car on a Museum Wall" from Honda? More SFX.

I'd say the circumstantial evidence for CGI is overwhelming.

New I'd be very surprized if movie people
did not have methods to deal with dollie reflection. This is not the first time a camera has to move next to something reflecting.
