We're *huge* in Sweden.
Hehe. I just got an email from a reporter for the stgta Correspondenten, a Swedish newspaper. He's doing an article on webcomics and wants to interview me. That strikes me as kinda neat. I was interviewed once before for a newspaper, but it was a Raleigh newspaper, which is where I was living at the time. This just seems so much more... transcontinental.

I'd congratulate you in Swedish
Except my keyboard doesn't have any umlauts on it.

neat.
Is this a cross-platform thing, or does it on work in 'doze?

I'd guess
if you have the same typeface, then all the letters should map the same. Winduz Charmap will show the different characters.
Had all the umlauts memorized when I was corresponding with friends/relatives in Germany.

Well, at one point in time
the way doze did all its extended character sets was drastically different than, um, just about every other OS out there, so while you could do umlauts and such on doze it would show up... oddly in other browser windows, email windows, etc.
I guess the advent of Unicode changes this?

I suspect that
alt+xxx is a Windows-only thing.

No, it's not
I do it all the time in Warp. You're actually inputting keyboard scan code numbers in directly; while there are 102 keys on a keyboard, it's an eight bit device that can support up to 256 characters.

In Windows, you're inputting ASCII codes
It has to be supported at driver level
Works in DOS, Windows, and, you say, Warp. Warp has some common roots with Windows, as we all know.
Does someone have a Linux box handy? My XServer on Windows does not understand alt + 3 digits.

FYI
I, an American computer geek, was not posting in Swedish, and you actually thought it was because I didn't know how to make umlauts, and not because I don't know Swedish. Wow.

You could stay in English.
Well, sorta. Old English used both thorn () and eth ().

Not working in Galeon
If I use the number pad, I just don't get anything. If I use the top row, I switch tabs in Galeon.
