New The Artist's Duty
This is the poem I don't want to write
This is the picture I don't want to paint
This is the story I don't want to tell
This is the photograph I don't want to take
This is the song I don't want to sing

I would give so much to turn back that day
I would turn back the clock, uncrumble the rubble
I would breath life back into the shattered bodies
I would pick up the billion shards of broken hearts
I would make those hearts whole

But I am one man
So I cannot heal the past
But I can build the future
I cannot turn back the clock, uncrumble the rubble
But I can pick up the pieces of broken hearts
And I can help those hearts heal

This is the poem I don't want to write
This is the picture I don't want to paint
This is the story I don't want to tell
This is the photograph I don't want to take
This is the song I don't want to sing

But I will.

New Wow
Is that yours?

Somebody looked into the abyss without blinking.

Watch this space: Catch-22 quote will appear once I have the book in front of me.
New Got some help from (i.e, partly inspired by) our very own...
...Stormin' Norm? That "...pick up the pieces of broken hearts" bit, doesn't O'Ryan have something pretty much like that in his .sig?

Note that this is not accusing you of plagiarizing, Thane -- artists borrow from each other all the time. True artistry is knowing what to borrow and when; and Norm had hit on a very poignant and appropriate (for your purposes, as well as his own) phrase there. (Heck knows, BTW, maybe he adapted it from somewhere else too.)

Anyway, I concur with Mike: If it is yours (even if it isn't, come to think of it), damn good work.

New May have been subconscious...
It popped into my head during that "Telethon" they held the other week. And yeah, I wrote it. I don't care about attribution, though - this kind of thing just doesn't really blow my whistle as far as claiming credit goes. You're right about it matching what our little Blaster has in his sig... It just seemed to fit.

New Outstanding.
Have fun,
