It just addresses the issue of the communication between the nic and the base station. Each model of card (or at least each chipset) will still require an individual driver for it. If you want, Derek has a 1800 number you can call, and he's definitely one of the good guys. Give him a shout and explain what you're looking for and maybe he'll have it or some advice on where to get it. I've come up with a potential workaround -- Linksys sells this thing which "converts" a standard ethernet card to a by-God-wireless just by plugging an ethernet cable into it, which would allow me to use relatively short ethernet cable and not have to worry about threading it all over creation.
