From a speech delivered yesterday in Georgia: But let me just share today something I feel very strongly about, because today I had the pleasure of having Tom DeLay, Denny Hastert, and a score of other Republicans come out of the woodwork to attack me for speaking out regarding the direction of our country when I spoke up in New Hampshire yesterday.
I think that Max who served with me and many who have served share with me this belief: I don't need any lessons in patriotism or caring about America from the likes of Tom DeLay and the right wing, whose motivations can be questioned ... And the one thing that passed in the mind of those of us who served, who have fought for freedom, and the one thing that all those who are in the Middle East fighting today is the cherished rights of Americans to question and debate the democracy of our nation and to turn this country in the directions that we believe are in the best interests of America. Tom DeLay, hear me loud and clear: I speak out for America, not for politics, and as long as I have air in my lungs I will continue to speak my mind... Edwards seems to be winning on the cash collection front. I could hold my nose and vote for him if he doesnt screw the pooch.

except that he claims his statement in the congressional record was never read by him. so either he is/was trying to have it both ways or he is too stupid to check what he supposed to have said on the house floor. Either way he is not high on my list. Although not high he IS higher than bush. The dems are really going to have to step on their dicks to lose next time. Although a McCain/Ventura third party run would beat Bush and most of the dems I see out there.

False dilemma. Lying or stupid. No other choices, huh? Like for example the Globe is being petty. They screwed up identifying him as Irish and then blamed him for their mistake.

so it is not important for a candidate for president
to verify what is being entered into a official publication under his name as if spoken by him for accuracy? Or did he allow it to go in with full knowledge of the implications hoping no one would notice. What other implications are available?

Other implications-
How about; "Here you go little staffer person, take this hastily scribbled note, dress it up in congress-speak language, and put it in the record".
That work for you? I'm not saying he didn't lie. I'm saying this isn't proof. And you still don't address the pettiness of the Globe.

I could fill this space with petty quotes from the st petes times who loaths the shrubs elder, pres and gov and nit craps them to death. Thats what they are there for. If there is crap in the closet the anti's will dig it out. Not out of doing the best thing for the country but out of spite.
