Welcome to IWETHEY!

New I always bought them.
When they used to come to my door and ask if I wanted Awake and Watchtower I'd always say, "Why Yes! I'm so glad you came. If you could just come in for a moment, I'll get a donation for you but first, I was just about to sacrifice a goat, would you care to join?"

Mikem

Osama bin Laden's brother could fly in US airspace 9/15/01, but I had to wait for FBI and CIA background checks, 'nuff said?
New Wow wishing I could come over for church
since in polite company the guest gets the eyeballs and the headman, you gets the brains. Do you have panpipes going at the same time?
My favorite thing to do is invite them in, ask if they like herb tea and offer them catwort, very soothing and a great buzz. They usually dont stagger back. (catwort another name for catnip)

New It's just another of our many euphemisms..
Congrats, Canada for nipping that little atrocity in the bud!

What the pee test means is:

Our War on Drugs cha cha cha - is prime hypocrisy of the sort we usually reserve for weaker opponents: we'll send the small-time guy with a month's worth of goods for own use -- to jail for 30+ years and then defoliate Colombia, Peru -- whoever lets our thugs in.. all rather than face the Fact that,

Daily life in Murica has become so odious to these tens of millions of Murican Users: they will risk the Puritan Laws to get goods anyway! Anything to escape the environment.

Bizness perceives how widespread is this desire to 'escape' -- and that often listed (in the "from" column) are: the cubicle, overtime and other dehumanizing aspects of the modrin Office and its petty make-work diet of really stupid rituals, its mangled TLA-besotted language of institutional Lying yada yada.

Ergo - the pee test.

New Re: It's just another of our many euphemisms..
Bad pun. Bad Ashcroft^R^R^R^R^Rton, bad!

Actually, it looks quite likely that we're going to decrim the stuff up here, amazingly enough. I think they looked at the numbers and trade and figured that they'd be better off putting it in the open and taxing it than trying to prevent it... it would take a lot of the violence out of the business and net the state some cash.

As the song says, "Everyone's a winner baby that's the truth!"

New you are free not to take the test
also they are free not to offer you a job. If an employer in a free coutry determines he does not want employees who smoke dope on their own time, they are entitled. I am also entitle to say I dont want to take a pee test. they are not coerced.

New french is just another word for nothin' left to lose
If an employer in a free country determines he does not want employees who smoke dope on their own time, they are entitled

Keep in mind that it's not necessarily the employer's preference--the employer may wish to do business the feds, who will insist that the employer have a testing program in place in order to be considered for the contract.

But let's assume for the sake of argument that the virtuous employer hath implemented the policy all by hisself. Why stop with dope? Why not test for...religious belief? Why not require proof of regular attendance at the Krischun Church of Your Choice? How about enforced vegetarianism? How about sound moral practices in video rentals (employer requires you to sign a form empowering him to query your rental records at the local video emporium...oh dear, oh dear, you rented the Director's Cut of Cycle Sluts over the Christmas holiday). But it's a free country, and if you don't think the employer should be allowed to regulate your conduct off the clock, you can always quit. Finding another gig in this economy should be a piece of cake, and if it's not, well, prolonged joblessness is no biggie, eh box?

Pee tests...Stalin himself would grin with derision.

cordially,

New well being a good stalinist Viega you would know
"Why not test for...religious belief? Why not require proof of regular attendance at the Krischun Church of Your Choice?" perfectly legal and can get federal funding as well under the faith based initiative.

New Mea Culpa.
I've been saying that since I was little and it took me a long time to remember where I first heard it. Now I do: George Carlin (as a tot I used to secretly sneak my dad's vinyl records of him into my room).
