Yeah, now I remember that.
I'd forgotten all about the broomberg incident, but never heard the Simmons interview, so I can't comment on that.
To be totally honest, I can't comment on the broomberg incident, having not heard that one either. :)
From what I've heard of talk radio, there's really two types: Interactive, and Entertaining. What most people think of "Conservative" talk radio is really "Entertaining" talk radio - an excuse to villify a bunch of people without giving them a chance to air their opposing viewpoint and actually have it debated. TotN, at least from my experiences back when I could listen to the radio during the day, actually gave both sides of the issue equal rope to hang themselves with, and then let them do the job themselves, instead of badgering them, making fun of them, and hanging up on them.
Now, if there was a general increase in "Interactive" talk radio - the TotN type - no matter WHICH "flavor" - Conservative or Liberal - I would be quite happy. Instead we have more of this polarizing bullshit "Entertainment" talk radio that basically serves to polarize the debate and generate ravening hordes of dittoheads who's basic argument is "We're right because you're a fucking idiot. You're a fucking idiot because our Great Leader said so."
And people wonder why our country is going to the shits.
"Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music." -- Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989
