Check out this wonderful little bit that Bush slipped in. Our economy is strong, it's resilient, we've got to continue to make it strong and resilient. This economy cannot afford to stand an attack, Yes, Bush is saying war is justified because Saddam might attack us, and that might be bad for our economy. Not because he might kill Americans but because it might reduce some companies profit margins. Jay

Especially the picture of the little kid with the candle. :) "An attack from (Iraqi President) Saddam Hussein or a surrogate of Saddam Hussein would cripple our economy," said Bush. How? "Our economy is strong, it's resilient, we've got to continue to make it strong and resilient. This economy cannot afford to stand an attack," he said. This must be a new usage of "strong" and "resilient" with which I was previously unfamiliar. The problem our economy is having has more to do with dumping money into a "war" that will never end than from anything Saddam could do.
