New No way a boat like that could go that fast...
[link|http://www.fleetwoodrv-info.com/bdrd/bdrd_specs.asp?model=BDRD39Z|Fleetwood Bounder Diesel] specs.

[link|http://www.uniquemotorsports.com/calculators.html|Horsepower required to overcome air resistance] calculator.

Aero HP = 0.000007 x Frontal Area x Cd x speed^3
= 0.000007 x 102 sq. ft x 0.5? x 126 x 126 x 126
= 714 HP

I doubt that they're getting that kind of power out of a 5.9 liter diesel. Then you still need to overcome the friction of the tires, etc., for the 21,000 pound beast.

Heck, even dropping it from a C-17 at 30,000 feet probably wouldn't make it go that fast! :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New Only dumbth + duplicity could cause Cummins or anyone
to credit this er 'computer record' with veracity: sensor failure, WindozeCE (hmm!!) or other glitch is the ONLY explanation for such GIGO 'data'.

We know that. Cummins Must know that. Institutionalized lying - that's all. Baldfaced.

Hope they get a good lawyer, one with a wry sense of humor for the jury's amusement about your HP/MPH chart!

Hey Bill: send along the above to the e-mail at your article's source? Maybe they can get it to the victims?

(And if the oil pressure indeed dipped enroute, at well under 126 mph: in what way is such a failure the bailiwick of anyone BUT the mfg. of That engine.?. it certainly ought not have USED that much oil.. in normal course. 'Course too the driver Was supposed to check the oil..)

EZ case, I'd guess..
