Can't post
I'm trying to post a reply to your question above, and I'm getting: Zope Error
Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource.

Hmm, will try to post it here
If you look at your <left square bracket>post: // 57396|list<right square bracket> of WeeCodes, (or the raw text of this link) you'll see the pipe after "post: // 57396" to delimit the link text. This currently works for post, http, gogle, news, usenet and defn protocols. It is not implemented on twiki or user protocols.
Where it was breaking: I turned off all the processing (new line, html, url and WeeCode) and it was still breaking. I tried indicating the brackets, and it still broke. Then I added spaces before and after slashes in the first link, no luck. Then added spaces before and after slashes in the second link, where I quoted "post: // 577396" and it works. Copied the text above into the test forum, turned indicated brackets back into actual brackets, delteted spaces around slashes, and got the same error.

And the other issue?
I'll test it [twiki://RandomWikiWord|here]. Well, it's changed alright. It no longer fubars the link; now it just doesn't convert it into a link at all. Whereas [link|http://twiki.iwethey.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/RandomWikiWord|RandomWikiWord] still works. (I'll assume by the time I click "Save Without Preview" it will be fixed, and I will look like an ass (again).)

Oh, now I get you
You're saying that would be subverting the TWiki naming convention. IMO the utility in it is that the auto-conversion makes it easier to interlink pages within a TWiki, not in the naming convention itself. Having only a single word or phrase to refer to a page would require that every sentance containing a link to it would have to be written with that word/phrase in mind.
For example, I might want to tell someone to contact the TWiki's [link|http://twiki.iwethey.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/KarstenSelf|admin]. With the current WeeCode I would have to tell you to contact [link|http://twiki.iwethey.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/KarstenSelf|KarstenSelf], the admin of the TWiki.
So yeah, if it's not too much trouble ...
(Gosh, it's easy to ask people to do things for you. I guess maybe I could be a PHB.)

How about that
A [link|/forums/render/user?username=drewk|cynical person] might have [link|/forums/render/content/show?contentid=58030|predicted this].
