Why not just divide the linked text in two, and new-window link the second half, if someone uses a specific pseudotag - say [aq href= etc. or something like that. It would work for everything except single letters. -drl

(Personally, I really don't care if new windows open or not, so it seems a shame to spoil the beautiful layout with extras.) I'll probably end up munging it at display time instead of save time, but I wanted to avoid that if possible. Enough people are objecting, however, that I think I'll take the performance hit anyway.
