Welcome to IWETHEY!

New "New window"
I really don't like this feature because it spoils the flow of text in an inline link. Can this be made optional? Why not just divide the linked text in two, and new-window link the second half, if someone uses a specific pseudotag - say [aq href= etc. or something like that. It would work for everything except single letters.

New Have you seen...
[link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=55885|this] yet, then?

New Re: Have you seen...
Yes that's better but it reminds me of footnotes. This is all a visual thing.

(Personally, I really don't care if new windows open or not, so it seems a shame to spoil the beautiful layout with extras.)

It seems like it would be really easy to copy this effect programatically:

[a href="[link|http://www.whitehouse.gov"]Whi[/a][a|http://www.whitehouse.gov"]Whi[/a][a] href="[link|http://www.whitehouse.gov"|http://www.whitehouse.gov"] target="[link|http://www.whitehouse.gov"]te[/a]|http://www.whitehouse.gov"]te[/a]] House

(mentally remove the munging - the second part would be targeted.)

New Re: Have you seen...
This would be a user preference - call it "split links".
-drl
New That would be horrible, IMO :-P
I don't expect a link to have different properties based on positional cues.

Well, I'll fiddle with it more. I'll probably end up munging it at display time instead of save time, but I wanted to avoid that if possible. Enough people are objecting, however, that I think I'll take the performance hit anyway.

As I said, it matters not to me unless the text flow is disrupted, and anyway MY SUGGESTIONS ARE THE RESULT OF COUNTLESS NANOSECONDS OF COGITATION, HOW DARE YOU REJECT THEM? :)
