New Re: Agreed. And check a tool shop like Techni-Tool
103SC891 is still to phat. As I said, I've got 0.75 inches to work with. My ratchet bits are far too long, and a chuck-head bit, cut, might work.

I'm looking to see if there aren't any Chinese Mystery Box trix on this case, but I don't see any. May break down and call the vendor (just realized that I know who it is in this case (no pun intended)), a true sign of desperation.

New IF I really had only 3/4", here's what I'd do.
  1. I'd get a #2 phillips hexagonal bit for one of those screwdrivers that take replacable bits.
  2. I'd grind the sucker down from the but end far enough so it'd get into the space and insert into the screw head with enough clearance for the screw to back out. 3/8 inch should be enough.
  3. I'd get an end wrench sized correctly for the hex of the bit. Holding the bit into the screw with a flat blade screwdriver of some such tool, I'd turn her out with the end wrench.
  4. After getting it all apart, I'd notice what the trick was and feel real stupid.

New Bad Vendor. Very Bad Vendor!
They should have at least provided even a leaflet about the actual box. The maker of the box would have. It also means I rather doubt you'd get much help from said vendor about How To Do what you've been asking.

Ah well. Perhaps you should just get out for 3/8" drill bit and drill some holes in the side above the screw holes. Then you'd be able to use an ordinary screwdriver. :-)

Wade.
