New You know what "typo" is short for, don't you?
It's short for "typographical error", although that's not completely correct either. So it works for mis-swiped words. Mis-corrected words, though... they're not really a typographical error or a lexical error but a dictionary lookup error.

(Yes, I've been watching linguistics videos on Youtube again.)

New Please don't link to any of them
I have things to do this weekend, and that would send me down a rabbit hole.

New Never occurred to me. :-)
New Yeah - dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive.
I've known for years they're almost always intended to describe how people use the language, not how they _should_ use the language. :-)

Interestingly, one of the early Merriam-Webster dictionaries was intended to be prescriptive!

Youtube channel I've been watching: https://www.youtube.com/user/Xidnaf

What should we call a "typo" when it wasn't typed? - (drook) - (13)
How about "goggld"? -NT - (mmoffitt)
         Drumpfed? - (Ashton)
You know what "typo" is short for, don't you? - (static) - (4)
Please don't link to any of them - (drook) - (3)
Never occurred to me. :-) -NT - (static) - (2)
                     You'll like this - (drook) - (1)
Yeah - dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive. - (static)
The correct term is of course "autoincorrect", but that's a little too long and cumbersome. -NT - (CRConrad) - (5)
I like that. But shortened to "ainc" -NT - (mmoffitt)
Yes, good word but too long to be catchy -NT - (drook)
             "Autotypo" would be shorter. - (a6l6e6x) - (2)
                 Hmm, better -NT - (drook)
                 "Autypo"? -NT - (CRConrad)

Looks like I shouldn't have skipped putting on the third coat of sarcasm.
