Ugh
Android Police website nerfs the back button.
I hate that.

Hadn't noticed that before.
Balloon-Juice is going through the rollout of an upgrade. Part of the upgrade messes up the back button. Whoever wrote the JS or whatever plugin is doing the magic grabs the back button to do smooth scrolling and such. There's a Greasemonkey script that fixes that behavior. Maybe a similar script will fix whatever issue AP is having with your back button. (Not that you have time to mess around with reprogramming your browser for a particular web site - I know I don't!) Cheers, Scott.

Works okay for me,
But then the Vivaldi browser is pretty aggressive at hanging on to browser-controls, more than most browsers are.

You know that's not going to help Garmin survive. :)

Re: Google releases Offline Maps and Navigation (on Android) today.
I've been building a navigation system based on http://openseamap.org - this kind of thing has been around for sailors for awhile.

Neat. Thanks for the pointer.
I'm not a Sailor Man myself, but it's neat to see what people are up to.
It looks like in a few years it's going to be almost impossible for people to get lost (assuming no equipment failure, no dead batteries, etc.). Of course, that means that automatic speeding tickets, tickets for "cop stops" at stop signs, etc., will be easy to implement too (which is good and bad) even without ubiquitous cameras.
Cheers, Scott.

Then you'll probably dig the Freeboard project

Neat. Too many chores to take up a new hobby though. :-(

Re: Neat. Too many chores to take up a new hobby though. :-(
I'm starting to break into hardware projects - sick to death of the web and what passes for mass "software development" these days.
Gadgets are fun. I have a couple projects on the work table requiring various sensors, arduinos, and raspberry pi's with custom programming.
