New Anyone else watching Backstrom
Schrute from The Office headlines as a brilliant but broken homicide detective. They're still establishing the characters, but already a bit more than one-dimensional. Maybe 1.3.

I like it for the little throwaways that make it feel like real people. There's a French woman doing computer forensics. Explaining to one of the other officers why she finds Backstrom attractive, she says, "He's a little naughty ... a little dirty ..."

"You are so not American."

"Thank you!"

New Saw 2 episodes last night.
Was too late to watch the 3rd (last available via "on-demand").
Went to watch it today, and it's no longer there.
ARRGG!!
I told M "never again. We will watch all available shows!"
New Yep. Nobody sets up Ovechkin better ... er, wrong Backstrom. Sorry.
New Yup. Cool in its own way, but nothing like the original.
This guy was still somehow relatable. The original character from Leif G. W. Persson's novels is not; he starts out as a paper-thin foil for the author to heap all his scorn about bad cops onto, and when he later gets fleshed-out he improves only as a literary figure, not as a person.

Christian R. Conrad
Same old username (as above), but now on iki.fi

(Yeah, yeah, it redirects to the same old GMail... But just in case I ever want to change.)
New Just made it to your local Netflix?

New Dunno, don't have that. This was on regular cable.

I said, "Forget the cods, Gill, this guy's gonna need a sturgeon." Well, the yellowtail was impressed with the way I landed her boyfriend. She came over to me, she said, "Hey, big boy. You're really a game fish. What's your name?" I said, "Marlin."
