OK I admit: I sneered at the folly of anyone paying $500 for a bloody vacuum cleaner.. (still do, for that matter.) A brief tale of capitulation, then..

As my effete refurb Shark V63? vac self-immolaated (some resistance at battery area; can't decipher which side-both hot.) It was un-sucky much anyway.. looked at Alts. (Ancient Rainbow superb-still re 'attachment' stuff + its water-filter as really works.) Better sticks, still so-so-sucky, were ~$100.

Refurb Dyson offer landed in in-box: 2 C-notes. (Learned lesson from the Maytag--that transistors can indeed improve a mere washing machine, actually save energy, wear and tear.) But a vacuum?
Thats 60% OFF/3 yr warranty but first 6mos With Dyson. Animal 50. Read stuff (the complainers were clearly in that group that can't clicky-click clever fasteners because they can't 'see' in 3-D from a 2-D cartoon.) Specs: quantum-mechanics grade vortices. Pay 1X for a next mediocrity? or 2X and dabble in the life-style of the Consumer??
Cats.. hair. Rugs overdue for a deep cleaning--not free + related hassle; could this light sucker really Suck-That-well? Helmet-grade ABS seemed a decent plastic design choice.. Caved.
.
It came, earlier than promised yet. 97,000 r.p.m.! Really ?!? (Can't get a tach on it sans disassembly.)
Ran a Hoover 'Concept One' super-heavy monster over LR carpet. Then ran nice, quiet, Light Mod 50 over same 4 x 9' test area: it nearly filled the (admitted-small) cup with Stuff, mostly cat-hair. (Not HEPA; don't need; not allergic--dunno if it could be upgraded.)
Instructions are all artsy, also the packing--tryin to match Apple, I wot. You indeed have to actually Look and See how neatly some of the convoluted bits fit together: the thin plastic strip alongside dust cup (to empty) looks utterly flimsy and is a strange 3-D creation, yet works; flimsy not an issue: it has to transmit in only one dimension.
It has techno-beauty all around; haven't decided whether to dismantle, find the electronics for that fancy motor. Hope their mobo has beaucoup spike-protection (?) Maybe after warranty, eviscerate... IF it continues as thus far (??) yeah it's Worth a couple C-notes, The Lightness alone makes it a charmer. (May not pick up ball-bearings, but I rarely have those on floor.)
It. Sucks. And does eat KWatts/warm sphere, that--haven't measured that yet.
(I guess too, that patents have it sewed up; Hoover's bagless version gets not the Love effused for this little bit of techno over-kill.) Hope Dyson aren't creeps, if I need something.
Carrion. It'll probably pick that up too.. if it's dried, macerated a bit. Vroooom 0-97,000 in 1300 mSec.
