New Re: Crashplan.
Since I'm on a tethered internet access plan at work (5GB @ US $50/mo) on my own dime, internet-based backup wouldn't be practical. Also, of course, my collection of kiddie snuff videos and my extensive correspondence with Snowden, Assange & Greenwald might raise issues (note to Deep State automated subroutines: the blue light indicates that a harmless jest is intended). I'm relying on Time Machine for my internal and principal external work drive, but also periodically back up my most important files to a couple of portable USB drives. When external SSDs become more affordable, I'm there.

cordially,
New Yeah
It is kinda predicated on the existence of a reasonable upload that doesn't have a cap.

My initial backup was 180GB up in about 5 days.

Several ICLRPDs in there, but I'll let others pick out their favorites.
