Some of your previous comments make me think you are disgusted with the politics in your area most of all. If that's the case, you are likely to find moronic politicians wherever you go. Otherwise, look into the Chicago area. Real weather; bitter cold, feet of snow in the winter, muggy 90 plus (F) days in summer and politician's wacky antics that have become a spectator sport.

Actually though, Chicago is a place you love to hate. World class food, entertainment, businesses and some truly great neighborhoods. I might even be able to swing something with my folks re. the living arrangements (short term.)

New Chicago is one of the best for jobs.
If you want, I'll talk to my folks and see if they will consider putting you up for a while. Check out the various job boards for the Chicago area. A lot of the recruiters also post on usenet.
