Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Nice day thanks to Irene
http://www.wundergro.../2xWindSpeed.html

I know it's bad out East, but here it's a nice sunny 75F day with a very nice northerly breeze courtesy of Irene.
Regards,
-scott
Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson.
New 50,000?
Nice day around DC too.

Cheers,
Scott.
New Survived...
One advantage of living on a hill. Everything goes down from here. The wind was a lot less than expected, although I think the storm took a right turn sometime earlier today.

Southern parts of the state and upper NY have been severely hit. Enough state roads have been closed that some parts are now completely inaccessible. Flash floods are starting to take out downtown areas.
New Good news. Where you at?
No need for ICBM coordinates, but a general area if you're willing. :-)

Glad you're OK!

Cheers,
Scott.
New Middlesex, VT

As of now, I89 is about the only way left to get from one side of the state to the other. All mountain passes have been washed out. We're starting to get pictures in from the southern counties. The damage there is severe.
New Wow
That's a lot of blocked roads. :-(

It must be beautiful up there. J have hiked around in the White Mountains a couple of times in NH. It's nice.

Take care.

Cheers,
Scott.
New It normally is beautiful
But as new trickles in, things are getting uglier by the minute.

Windham, NY is pretty much gone.

Brandon is my wife's home town. The pizza joint that was on the move in the last shot is now on the other side of the road.
New :-(
New 109F Saturday; 107F Sunday
Saturday tied the all-time highest temp measured since they started keeping records over 100 years ago, and Sunday smashed the former high for that date by 6 degrees.

Last Thursday broke the string of consecutive 100+ days by topping out at "only" 97.

"Chicago to my mind was the only place to be. ... I above all liked the city because it was filled with people all a-bustle, and the clatter of hooves and carriages, and with delivery wagons and drays and peddlers and the boom and clank of freight trains. And when those black clouds came sailing in from the west, pouring thunderstorms upon us so that you couldn't hear the cries or curses of humankind, I liked that best of all. Chicago could stand up to the worst God had to offer. I understood why it was built--a place for trade, of course, with railroads and ships and so on, but mostly to give all of us a magnitude of defiance that is not provided by one house on the plains. And the plains is where those storms come from."

New That's hot.
New and dry
which is odd for Houston.

I posted some photos here of the tire-swallowing-chasms I'm having to avoid when I take my bike out in the evenings.

New That's dry. :-(
New 107F this past Monday, 103F yesterday
looks like a low pressure system may form in the Gulf by this weekend, potentially bringing Saturday or Sunday's high temp to 90F.
